Trung Trang Cave is nestled within the Trung Trang Valley, located 15 km northwest of Cat Ba town. Visitors practically have to stoop along the journey to explore the cave, which stretches over 300 meters. Formed over millions of years of geological processes, this cave boasts thousands of natural stalactites with unique shapes, stimulating the imagination of visitors. Locals refer to Trung Trang Cave as the “treasure trove” with many unique features.
Venturing about 100 meters deep into the cave, visitors arrive at a chamber adorned with sparkling stalactites under the dim, ethereal lights. Here, there are stalactite formations resembling crowns, brocade robes, and the figures of the Three Lucky Gods. Locals call this chamber the “treasure trove” of the fairy queen.
Adjacent to the “treasure trove” chamber, visitors come to another chamber with its ceiling coated in a soft, velvety white layer resembling chalk. However, some tourists have vandalized the cave’s ceiling, disrupting this layer, which is quite repulsive.
Trung Trang Cave harbors a mysterious ecosystem in the dark, serving as a habitat for various species including bats, birds, insects, and reptiles. The limited lighting system is in place to preserve the cave’s ecological environment. The hazy atmosphere contributes to an intriguing experience for visitors.
At the end of the journey through the more than 300-meter Trung Trang Cave lies a grand entrance adorned with numerous rock formations resembling magnificent sculptures crafted by nature. From here, visitors step into a lush green space with many ancient trees and vines. In the Trung Trang Cave area, there is also a beautiful natural forest of cinnamon trees.
