Cat Co Beach 1, 2, 3 are favorite destinations that any traveler visiting Cat Ba cannot miss. These beaches are only a few hundred meters away from the town center. Cat Ba Beach charms tourists with its cool, crystal-clear blue water, vibrant golden sunlight, and endless stretches of sparkling white sand. “Cat Co,” a name so endearing to Vietnamese people, brings to mind a gentle species of bird. However, for Cat Ba, it holds a different significance. According to legend, in the primordial era of the universe, when heaven and earth were close together, celestial maidens often transformed into herds of storks to admire the earthly scenery. With its smooth white sands, clear blue waters, and waves crashing against the mountainside, this is truly a celestial landscape.

From the center of Cat Ba town, you can walk, hire a motorbike taxi, or an electric bike to reach the nearby Cat Co Beaches 1, 2, and 3. These beaches are not too large but secluded, with clear, calm waters and warm sea temperatures. The beaches are connected by a small path along the mountainside.
Cat Co Beach 1 is the largest and most beautiful, nestled around the mountains, with waves all year round, fresh air, and clear blue waters, making it a popular spot for tourists to relax and swim. Cat Co Beach 2 is quieter and slightly mysterious. Cat Co Beach 3 has a more modern feel. Along the shore, beyond the recreational area, are clusters of guesthouses built like small villas suitable for families. While not as attractive as Cat Co Beaches 1 and 2, this beach has more waves and depth, suitable for strong swimmers. After swimming, lying back on the sandy beach, sipping water, or enjoying seafood specialties, visitors will fully appreciate the beauty of the sea, especially at sunset. After 6:30 PM, there will be no one at the beach to ensure safety as the tide rises rapidly. Additionally, tourists can swim at Tung Thu Beach, small beaches in Lan Ha Bay, or Cat Dua Beach on Monkey Island.

If the southern region has the pearl island of Phu Quoc, then Cat Ba is also considered the pearl island of northern Vietnam. The pristine beauty of the mountains, the pure beauty of nature, and the vast ocean create a magical allure for tourists both domestically and internationally.
