1 Day Cat Ba National Park Trekking Tour

Tour trekking Cat Ba National Park, enjoy the beauty of the vast landscapes and seascapes. 

Cat Ba National Park is an extremely unique national park in the system of national parks of Vietnam, these ecosystems are adjacent and follow each other, creating extremely rich landscapes and habitats. The park is also the only conservation area of Vietnam and the world where populations of Cat Ba langur exist.

Tour trekking Cat Ba National Park to Viet Hai village

8.00-8.30: Bus and our experience tour guide pick you up at your hotel in Cat Ba town.
9.00-11.30: Arrive National Park gate, take entrance fee and start trekking. On the trail through the tropical forest, you will be immersed in nature and will see some mammals such as mink, squirrel, monkey, bird and many butterflies, especially if you are lucky, you will see species yellow-headed langurs, one of the rarest animals are listed in Red Book, climb over 3 mountains named locally as: “Ang Vat, May Bau, Ang Phay”.

11.30: In after 2.5 hours trekking with distance about 6 km, you will stop at the Frog Pond. This is the largest freshwater lake in the middle of the National Forest. From Frog pond’s (Ao Ech) bottom, reaching up thousands of “Va Nuoc” trees, the species is only found in.

The Frog ponds (Ao Ech) not anywhere else in Cat Ba Island. There are many types of fish and crab in the pond, take a rest 30 minutes here.

12.00 -13.00: Continue trekking from Frog Pond (Ao Ech) up the last mountain named “Doc Dài “to Viet Hai village (4 km), This is a small ancient village of local residents with about 100 families.
13.00: Have lunch and take a rest at Viet Hai village. Experience fish massage your feet in cool stream flowing from Cat Ba primeval forest.

14.00: Free to explore the lives of people in the village, take bicycling 5km to Viet Hai harbor. Get on travel boat through Lan Ha Bay, stop at a floating home for kayaking to discover the beauty of Lan Ha Bay- The most beautiful bay of the world, enjoy a great time to immerse yourself’ in Lan Ha bay’s clear blue water.

16.00: Boat takes you back to Cai Beo wharf, you can visit Cai Beo Fishing floating village on way back. Cai Beo was formed hundreds of years ago, associated with the process of ancient Cat Ba’s residents moved from forest to the sea to find food from the ocean.

17.00: Arrive Cai Beo wharf, car take you back Cat Ba town center. Finish journey and see you again.

1. Is this a hard trek?
   • For half day trekking is very easy but for full day is quite hard.
2. For full day trekking, do we have lunch on the way?
   • We come across Viet Hai fishing village and stop there to have lunch at one of the most famous local restaurant.
3. Do we take the same way to go back?
   • No, after having lunch in Viet Hai, you cycle to Viet Hai Dock and then take the boat cruising through Lan Ha Bay to go back.
4. Will we see any animals?
   • Yes, if the weather is good enough. But only a few
5. Do I need to bring anything?
   • Good hiking shoes, good camera and mosquito protection
