Visit an Ancient Village

Perhaps you have passed by an ancient village while kayaking or boating around Lan Ha Bay.

Cat Ba has the ancient fishing village of Cai Beo, the oldest and most intact village in Vietnam.

You won’t forget the tranquil scene of paddling through the floating village, the stilt houses, and the bright smiles of the women in the village.

They are very hospitable and may even invite you onto their boats to play. Cai Beo fishing village is located near Cai Beo port, so it’s not difficult to get there.

However, Cat Ba also has the ancient village of Viet Hai, which is also famous for its eco-tourism activities.

There are three ways to get to Viet Hai: kayaking, taking a boat, and trekking through Cat Ba National Park.
